OUR DESIGNERS

Lorianne Héon
Lorianne has a strong background in interior design and artisanal woodworking. A graduate of Cégep de Trois-Rivières in 2001, she began her design career in a Toronto-based firm before pursuing her passion for woodworking by completing a college degree in Fine Woodworking at the École d’ébénisterie d’art de Montréal (EEAM) in 2006. Her journey then led her to Bombardier, where she contributed to international projects. From 2011 to 2014, she returned to EEAM as a workshop technician, sharing her expertise with the next generation of artisans. Since 2014, Lorianne has been an integral part of the Verbois team, applying her various skills acquired during the years. For her, great furniture design is all about finding the perfect balance between technical precision and creative freedom — a philosophy she brings to every collection she helps shape.
Gabriel Fortin
Following a rewarding athletic journey, Gabriel pursued studies at the École nationale du meuble et de l’ébénisterie, graduating in 2016. Driven by a desire to return to his hometown and fueled by a passion for residential furniture, Verbois naturally became the ideal choice to launch his career. He joined the Verbois team in 2017. With eight years of experience in the design department, where he explored many facets of creation and product development, Gabriel now leads product development at Verbois. His creative vision, technical precision, and keen understanding of trends make him a key player in our innovation efforts.

Jean-Michel Saint-Cyr
Driven by his passion for guitar and a need to understand how things work, Jean-Michel discovered woodworking through lutherie training at the Institut des métiers d’art. Seeking a more dynamic pace of creation, he went on to study industrial design at the Université de Montréal, graduating in 2004.
His professional path has taken him through a wide range of design fields, from architectural lighting with the Sistemalux Group, to graphic design, furniture, and both commercial and residential interior design. In his view, where users feel emotion, a product must also deliver functionality and durability.
Jean-Michel joined Verbois in 2009 with a multidisciplinary background to establish the design and development department. Since then, he has created and contributed to the design of over a hundred pieces and collections, whilst also leading the company’s digital transformation and the integration of advanced machining technologies.
To him, manufacturing constraints are just challenges waiting to be solved!
